• Thursday 19 June 2025 Football A team of Hawks represented the school at a football tournament at SWR School. They all played with enthusiasm, energy and thought carefully about how they could improve after every match. This helped them win every game! Two members of the team also volunteered to help another team out who were short of players and their teacher was extremely impressed with how they collaborated with their new teammates. Great effort everyone!
• Thursday 5 June 2025 Table Tennis The Hawks enjoyed a table tennis taster session run by Stroud Table Tennis Club. They got to play lots of great games and learn some new skills. The coaches were very impressed by everyone's hand-eye coordination. The club run a session in Minchinhampton, Nailsworth or Stroud if anyone wants to develop their skills further.
• Wednesday 12 March 2025 Geometry Problem Solving The Hawks had a fantastic time solving geometry problems with Mr Ede. Everyone learnt the importance of persevering when a problem cannot be solved quickly. They really enjoyed working hard and the sense of accomplishment when they completed a tricky puzzle. It was great to see everyone collaborating so well, listening carefully and explaining their ideas clearly to solve the problems. Mr Ede's passion for the subject was infectious and everyone developed their confidence in solving new and unfamiliar problems. It was a really enjoyable day for everyone! • Wednesday 17 January 2024 Y3 Maths Challenge Year 3 enjoyed applying their mathematical skills when they took part in the maths challenge with Leighterton School. They had to collaborate with their team to solve a range of challenges against the clock. Some pupils from SWR were on hand to offer support and check their answers as well. Everyone persevered with the difficult problems and enjoyed the feeling of successfully completing them. There is a full gallery of pictures on the school website.
• Wednesday 8 February 2023 Cricket Everyone took part in a Chance to Shine engagement day where all of the children had the opportunity to enjoy some cricket coaching and learn about the game. All of the classes were able to develop their skills and learnt how to play with the ‘Spirit of Cricket’ as well. There was a lot of fun to be had too!
