Community Links

We are a small village school, so we see it as fundamental that we look beyond the boundaries of the school gate into the wider community to ensure that our children receive a well-rounded experience.

We have close links with many local secondary and primary schools, as part of the Stroud Area of Schools (our Headteacher, Mrs Rushton, sits on the Management Committee and chairs the local cluster meetings) and our affiliation with the Cotswold Edge Teaching Alliance (CETA). We host initial teacher training on behalf of CETA.

Our children have regular opportunities to have enrichment days at our cluster schools. This involves a variety of events including DT, English, maths, art, music and sport at Sir William Romney's School, events at Westonbirt and Beau Desert Schools, and other days arranged by the local cluster.

We participate in local events, including the annual Village meeting in Avening, church services in Avening and Tetbury, the Tetbury Woolsack Races, and Proms in the Park at Sir William Romney's School.

We have worked on projects with the residents of local residential homes for the elderly. Other local charity work includes collecting and delivering produce for our local foodbank.

Our links with the local Play Group are also well-developed, involving reciprocal staff visits to promote and share good practice - and we have an input into the Play Group committee.
